In Denmark, the minimum wage is not statutory. If you are covered by a collective agreement in your workplace, a minimum wage is ensured. Consequently, you do not end up working for DKK 60 per hour as an adult.
If you want to know how much you are going to get paid, check your collective agreement. There you can see how you are covered. Remember that in addition of the minimum wage there is often extra salary allowances. If you are in doubt, contact your local HK branch.
Your wage is usually based on a wage floor or standard wage governed by the collective agreements. Get an overview of the differences between the two types of salary here.
In the wage floor area there are largely no longer any pay rates. Instead, the pay is calculated based on i.a. HK's salary statistics.
Your salary must reflect the contents of the job, your qualifications and education, your performance and responsibility.
If you are employed under a wage floor agreement, you are entitled to one annual salary negotiation.
Wage floor agreements are mainly found in the private labour market.
In the standard wage area, all salary rates and increases are agreed in the central collective negotiation.
This means that if you are employed under a standard wage agreement, you will know your salary for the duration of the collective agreement.
Therefore, you are not entitled to salary negotiations in the collective agreement period.
But you have a possibility of negotiating miscellaneous allowances: qualification allowance, personal allowances or functional allowances.
Standard wage agreements are mainly found in the public labour market and organisations.
