’HK Job’ can only function if HK collects and processes some personal data about you. To use the app, you must be logged in with MitID. 

Below we have described how 'HK Job' works and how HK and HK's unemployment fund processes your personal data and what rights you have in relation to your data.

  • We process data about you relating to 'HK Job' to make the app find the job opportunities that you want. 
  • We use information about your education and position, geography, and preferences, as well as your activity in the app to offer you job opportunities that are relevant to you.
  • We also use information from the app to compile statistics and analyses based on the use of 'HK Job' by all users.
  • We also use information from the app for market research, organising and development of the app.
  • We also process data from the app if necessary to fulfil a legal obligation.
  • In addition, we use data from the app to offer you help in keeping your membership details up to date.

As concerns the last purpose, you may be contacted about updating your membership data in connection with your use of the app. This would be relevant, for example, in connection with a change of job, graduation, etc.

 
Processing by source code or an algorithm are examples of automated processing of personal data which means that no human is involved in the process. We do not perform any automated decision-making in 'HK Job', but we do use profiling based on automated processing to show you the most relevant job adverts in the app and to modify notifications about the job adverts that are of interest to you.

You have the right to object to this processing. You can opt out of automated processing and profiling in the app by logging out and deleting the app. The underlying data will then be deleted after you have been inactive for 30 days.
 
In connection with 'HK Job', HK processes your personal data as part of HK's legitimate activities as a trade union. The legal basis for processing the data is:
Article 9(2)(d) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (trade union authorisation) along with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (legitimate interest).

HK's unemployment fund processes your personal data in relation to 'HK Job' as part of its obligation to get as many of our members into work as possible and to help our members obtain relevant employment throughout their working life. The legal basis for processing the data is Article 6(1)(c) (legal obligation) and (f) (legitimate interest) of the GDPR.

In relation to 'HK Job', HK and HK's unemployment fund process your personal data in order to make the app work as described in these terms of use and privacy policy.

The legal basis for processing your data is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR (performance of a contract).

When we process data from the App to produce statistics and analyses, the legal basis may be Article 9(2)(j) of the GDPR (statistical and scientific purposes).
 
We process the following personal data in the app:
  • Membership of HK and/or HK's unemployment fund
  • Your name and job title
  • Your educational background
  • Phone number and email address for notifications and membership contact
  • Log information about your activities in 'HK Job', including your choice of favorites and search criteria
  • Biometric data for in-app log-in if desired
  • We store an identification number for your specific app installation in the membership management system
  • Address
 
All our employees are bound by professional secrecy. We only disclose information to the extent that we are authorized or obliged to do so.
We disclose or transfer your personal data to the following recipients when necessary or convenient for you:
  • Data processors 
Data processors are external private companies or public authorities/institutions that process data exclusively on behalf of and on the instructions of HK or HK's unemployment fund.
 
When you use the services of HK and HK's unemployment fund, your personal data may in some cases be transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA.

Cases where such a transfer occasionally may take place will be in situations where HK uses data processors and these use suppliers established outside the EU/EEA.

If the transfer is not to recipients established in the so-called "safe" third countries authorized by the European Commission, the legal basis for the transfer will often be the European Commission's standard contractual clauses for international transfers. 
 
We primarily collect the information directly from you when you enter it into 'HK Job'. We log your use of the app, including your search criteria and favorites. We carry out profiling using automated processing to show you the most relevant job adverts in the app and to customize notifications of the job adverts that are of interest to you.

If you are a member of HK, we will compare your data with the master data we have registered in our membership management system.
If you are a member of HK's unemployment fund, we will compare your data with the master data we have registered in our membership management system. 
However, we may obtain or receive information directly from a third party. We only collect information that is relevant and necessary. This includes, for example, data from:
  • The CPR register, when required by law
 
HK and HK's unemployment fund store your data for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which the personal data in question are processed. This means that we store data for the period during which we can be met by a claim, are obliged by law, or have another legitimate purpose for the storage.

HK's membership management system registers when you are logged in to the app. This registration can be deleted by pressing 'log out and delete data' directly from the app. Data on 'Your favorites' and search criteria will be deleted 30 days after you have logged out and deleted the app.

If you do not log out when you delete the app, your data will be stored for 10 years.
 
When we process your personal data, you have the following rights:

Right to see the data (right of access) 
  • You have the right to access the data we have registered and a series of additional information.
Right to rectification (correction)
  • You have the right to obtain the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you.
Right to erasure 
  • In certain circumstances, you have the right to have personal data erased prior to the time we would generally have deleted such data.
Right to restriction of processing
  • In certain circumstances, you have the right to obtain restriction of the processing of your personal data. If you have the right to restriction of the processing, we may subsequently only process your personal data, with the exception of storage, with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest.
Right to object
  • In certain circumstances, you have the right to object to HK and HK's unemployment fund otherwise lawful processing of your personal data. You can also object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing and profiling purposes.
Right to transmit data (data portability) 
  • Under some circumstances, you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to have these personal data transmitted from one controller to another without hindrance.

You have the right to submit a complaint to the Data Protection Agency if you are dissatisfied with the way we process your personal data in ’HK Job’. This privacy policy will when necessary be updated and amended regularly because of changes in data protection law and practice or when our use of new technological possibilities makes it necessary. We therefore recommend that you keep yourself regularly informed in 'HK Job'.
In case of major changes, the users of 'HK Job' will be notified directly in the app.
